The lambs are reared, raised and butchered on the farm. Martin Calvey has spent over 70 years hill-farming on Achill and for many decades Calvey’s have their own on-farm abattoir too. The Calvey family won the national Farming for Nature Award in 2018. Their lamb was honoured with an Irish Food Writers Guild Award in 2022. Many other food accolades include Gold at the Blas na h-Eireann Irish Food Awards and Top Prize 3 Stars at Great Taste Awards 2025.
You can use the multiple-choice order form online to choose how you want your order prepared. You can also have the offal (liver, heart, kidneys) included in the lamb box if you wish.
